More experiments (activities) can be found at: Themes.

A
Absorb - Put a sponge in water.  Observe the water absorb into the sponge.
Astronomy - Look outside during the day, during the night.   What do you see?
Air - Blow a feather across the floor. Put some water into a container and blow in it.  Blow on your hand, or another body part.  Blow a balloon up and play with it.
Does Air Take Space?

Air Pressure Experiment
Fill a sink (or container) of water (enough to cover the cup).  Have the child(ren) predict if water will go in the cup or not.  Push a clear plastic cup into the water. Take the cup out of the water.  Did any water get into the cup?  Was the cup heavy or light? After doing that several times, let the children experiment with the cup and let water enter into the cup.  Was the cup with the water in it heavier or lighter than the cup with "just air" in it?

Heart

Talk about the heart.  Show where it is located on the body.  Talk about why it is important to have, what you can do to keep it healthy (e.g. exercise, eat good foods, not smoke, etc.).

Heartbeat Activity
Take an empty paper towel roll (this will be a stethoscope).  Place it against someone else's heart.  Listen to the heart.
