What
is this place?
The
Pedal Steel Pickers Page is designed to be a resource
center for pedal steel players of all levels. Some
information for non-pedal guitars is provided, but
the main focus is on pedal steel.
Site
Content:
If
you are new to the pedal steel and are trying to
learn what the heck it is and how it works, look
under General Info for
links to pages containing detailed information on
history, construction, tuning, etc.
If
you're looking to buy a new pedal steel or amp,
or just want to browse around, go to Guitar
Builders or Amplifiers
for links to manufacturers.
The Suppliers page
will take you to numerous pedal steel shops where
you can browse through new and used equipment as
well as stock-up on strings, picks, accessories
and other goodies.
The
Learning page contains
links to pedal steel teachers and mail order houses
specializing in home study courses. There are also
many lesson videos available. If you prefer to listen
and learn, go to the Listening
page for a list of essential recordings and where
to get them.
Maybe
you need to get out of the house and see the pedal
steel in action. The Shows
page contains a listing of upcoming steel guitar
shows and events (courtesy of The Pedal Steel Guitar Association).
Stay
up-to-date by subscribing to the various steel guitar
magazines and periodicals listed under Magazines.
Check
out the listing of Pedal Steel Guitar Associations
to see what other steelers are up to around your
neighborhood.
If
you want to chat with other pickers, go to the Forums
page for links to chat rooms and online forums.
If you're looking for some inspiration, there's
nothing better than reading and learning about the
Stars of the Steel Guitar.
The Buddy Emmons Big "E"
Q&A page is a great information source for
steelers of all levels. (Courtesy of Buddy
Emmons and The
Steel Guitar Forum.)
If
anybody cares, I've posted my E9th
Setup. It's pretty normal but you might find
a few interesting things. There's even a few WAV
files if you want to hear the changes.
The
Links page is a list of
all the personal home pages (other than the those
found elsewhere in this site) that I've found pertaining
to the steel guitar. I'll add more as I find them.
Please let
me know if you have or know of a site that should
be listed here. |
