These can be used as centers, as practice, or as games with 2 or more players.

Note: If your children or students want, you can have them look at a master sheet with the alphabet or numbers so they can look at it after they are done to see if they did it correctly.   You don't have to do exactly what these ideas say.  You can just have them there in an envelope or folders if your children or students want to practice when they have free time or just want to do it.

You can turn these into file folder games if you put double sided tape onto the file folder.  See the directions of Apple Number Game (File Folder).

#1
To help children learn their numbers.

1.  Trace shapes from a cookie cutter or use another pattern of your choice onto paper or construction paper.
2.  Cut and color the shape.
3.  Write the numbers and word on the shape.
4.  On the opposite side (or another card-if you want this to be a file folder game), draw a dot or an object on the top part of the flashcard for each number.
5.  Laminate the cards.
6.  Have your children trace the numbers with crayon or pen so that it can be washed off.
7.  Have your children put the numbers in order.
8.  Have your children say their numbers during or after they put them in order. (If they want to.)

Note: For younger children, place dots on each number card.

#2
To help children learn to write their numbers in words.

1.  Trace shapes from a cookie cutter or use another pattern of your choice.
2.  Cut and color the shape.
3.  Write the dotted numbers on each shape.  For example, "1".
4.  On the opposite side (or another card-if you want this to be a file folder game), write a dotted word for each number.  For example, "one". For example, an apple. (This is great for children learning numbers.)
5.  Have the flashcards laminated.
6.  Have your children trace the numbers and words with crayon or pen so that it can be washed off.
7.  Have your children put the numbers in order.
8.  Have your children say their numbers during or after they put them in order. (If they want to.)
