Lesson Sequence

1. Review with your children what you talk about in the last weeks lesson. Show a fish and ask them, "What is this?" Show them a turtle and ask them "What is this?" Next ask them "Where do fish live?" and "Where do turtles live?" Their responses should be in water. If your children do not talk or not much yet, just let them answer using the word or words they know how to say or you can tell them.

2. Sing the song": Five Green Speckled Frogs / Five Green Frogs.

You can use:

Use the worksheets that are listed below. You can color them or your children can color them.
Frog Booklet from Kiddyhouse: Frog Theme.

3. Sing the song again and have your children pretend they are frogs. Have them sit like a frog on a small pillow or just on the floor and have them jump like it says in the song. Follow the words in the song as you sing the song; if they can sing, let them sing with you.

4. Make an origami jumping frog using light weight green paper. Play a game or more of leaping frogs. The object of the game is whos frog will make it to the finish line first. Just have fun, there are no winners or losers in this game.

You can find instructions of how to make the frog at these two sites.
