Alphabet (ABC) Games
Letter Hunt
Place all the objects that you can find in a room/house that starts
with that letter into a box. For older children, you can have
them do it as a quiet activity by having each child write everything
that starts with that letter onto a piece of paper.
Art & Phonics:
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Art Activity
Coconut Tree
Have each child cut out green construction paper to make the top (palm
leaves) of the cocunut tree. Cut out
circles out of brown construction paper to make coconuts.
Make a truck using brown construction paper. Write the alphabet
using different colors onto a piece of paper. Cut them out.
Glue the leaves onto the truck, the coconuts on the leaves, and the
letters wherever on the tree. If you make the tree small
enough, you can glue the tree on a 9x12 piece of construction
paper. You can cut a circle out of orange (for the sun) or yellow
(for the moon) paper. Glue it on the side of the tree.

DLTK Have the child color the tree
and coconuts. Cut the pieces out and glue it onto another piece
of paper. Have them write the letters of the alphabet, place
stickers on it, or make some letters for them to put on their tree.

Letter Book
If you want, you can make a letter book (especially for preschoolers).
If you want your child or student to make their own
book.
Have them draw pictures or glue in pictures that begin with the letter.
One Sheet Book
Version One:
Place each of the pages on construction paper. Fold it in half
before having the child do his/her activities. Glue each page to
each other. Take a piece of construction paper and glue that to
the front and back pages. Write on the front the child's name,
below that, use yarn for the upper and lower case of that letter, and
then, write "Book".
Cheaper Version:
Another way to do letter books is to cut the amount of construction
paper you need for the book in half (this saves on paper and
glue). Reduce the activity sheets to fit on one
side (this saves computer ink). Staple the pages together when
you have finished that letter of the week. Write on the front
the child's name, below that, use yarn for the upper and lower case
of that letter, and then, write "Book".
