Bear Matching Games / Bear Color Games / Bear Pattern Games /
Bear Concentration Games Use the below stickers to make a bear matching games, bear color
games, bear pattern games, bear concentration games or whatever you
can think of to use with these cute bear stickers. You can place
these stickers on index cards (or heavy paper). Laminate them
if you like. Have the children play the various games that can
be make from these stickers.

To make the cards:
Go to Billybear4kids.com:
Print Animals Worksheets and go down to "Dominos". I
used the first two pages of it, saved it, copied it on my computer,
pasted each bear, and copy two of each bear into another file.
I printed it out in black and white. I used the second page of
Teacher
Created Material: Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? (pdf)
and copied the second page twice. Cut the bears out.
Color the black bear and brown bear from Teacher Created
Materials. Take 10-3x5" index cards and cut them in half
lengthwise. Make 20 of the same size using either blue, black,
or brown construction paper to go on the back of the card.
Glue them onto each other. Glue the bears onto the index
cards. To make them last longer, laminate or cover with clear
contact paper. I also used this for The "B" Game.
For preschoolers:
Place the 10 bears facing up. The other 10, have them facing
down in a stack of cards. As the child draws that card, have them
match it with the other bear. Continue to play it until all
the bears have a pair.
For older children (or preschoolers if they understand how to
play the game)
Concentration game: Turn all the cards over with the bears
facing down and try to match the same picture. Trade turns
if you have more than one player.

If you don't have a color printer or want to have all the pictures
in the book do this instead:
On a poster board, make 10 squares. Save the images at DLTK
and reduce the pictures to be about 25% or go Themes to find
coloring pages (reduce those too). Color the pictures as
stated by its name (or any color for the mother and children). The
pictures in the book are: Brown Bear, Red Bird, Yellow Duck, Blue
Horse, Green Frog, Purple Cat, White Dog, Black Sheep, Gold Fish,
Mother, and Group of Children. Laminate the
pictures and the poster board (if you like). Write the
color of the animal in that color or write the name "Mother" and
"Group of Children" in the box.
Instructions: Have the child match the color with
the correct color name.

"The Bear Parade" in the above link. Color and laminate
them. Have the children make a pattern on the floor or a
table.
Note: You can make a story bag for each child to take home (if you
are a teacher).
6. Have the child choose a black and white animal from: Brown
Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? at DLTK. Have the child
color it using: paint, crayons, markers, water colors, cotton swaps,
sponges, brushes, etc. to decorate the animal.
7. Rainbow Bear Sugar Cookies,
Biscuits,
Pretzels, or Toast
Directions: Use a teddy bear cookie cutter. For each color,
take 1 tablespoon milk (rice/cow's) and 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon sugar
and mix it. Place some of the milk mixture in small jars,
glasses, small margarine containers, or other containers.
Repeat for the amount of colors you want. It takes 1 drop to
make each color. Take sugar cookie dough, biscuit, or a piece of
white bread. Paint with some of the milk using a pastry brush
or small paint brush. Mix the colored milk to make different
colors. Bake the sugar cookies, biscuits, or pretzels
according to the directions in this recipe handout. For the
bread, put the bread in the oven or a toaster oven and take it out
when it is lightly brown.
