5. Dramatic Play: Have the children act the story out. Have the
child be the pig
or the wolf or both. Have the child say, as the wolf "I'm going to huff
and puff and blow your house in”. Have them pretend they are blowing
the pigs house down as a pig, "Not by the hair of my chiny chin chin".
Repeat three times. At the last house, the wolf tried and tried (act
out blowing the
house down/in) and finally he gave in and the house stayed standing.

Use a small paper bag. Cut a pink piece of construction paper (or
white and color it pink) to be about 9x5" (or the size of the
bag). Glue it on the bottom part of the paper bag. Cut a
piece to be 3x5".
Glue it on the top part of the paper bag. Make a snout to be
about
1 1/4". Color two nostrils on it and glue onto the bottom part of the
flap.
Make two eyes and color pupils on them. Glue above the
snout.
Make a red tongue and glue it underneath the flap. Make two ears,
two smaller front legs (with smaller feet), two back legs, and a curly
tail.
Glue them onto the pig where they should go. (Note: You can use
the ears, legs and tail patterns from Danielle's Place for this
puppet.
I thought the snout and eyes were too large.)

Say the rhyme. Have the children learn it. Point out that
"none" is another way to say "0" or "zero". Practice writing "0"
and/or
"zero".
This Little Piggy
This little piggy went to market.
This little piggy stayed home.
This little piggy had roast beef.
And this little piggy had none.
For babies, say this rhyme as you move each toe.

Use Pig 1
or Pig 2
(reduce the size of the pigs) and Farmer
(or a larger version: Farmer
@ First-school) or Smiling
Farmer
@
Whillock (reduce the size of this or keep the pigs
larger). Make a large mud pile (I think
that's
the name of it) out of brown felt or construction paper (laminate).
Color
the farmer and color the pigs pink. Laminate. Put tape on
the
back of the mud, farmer, and pigs. (You can glue a piece of emery
board
or sand paper.) Tell the story using a large flannel board,
cardboard, etc.
Arts & Crafts
Muddy Pig Craft
Print a pig onto pink construction paper.
Have the child cut it out.
Using paint brushes or hands, fingers, etc., use one
of the following ways:
For younger children, place some chocolate
pudding in a small bowl and have the child use it as mud.
Have
the child mix some white and brown kids paint together (or you can use
real
mud).
Pig Craft
Choose a pig coloring page and paint it pink.
Use pink playdough.
Make a round ball. Make two eye sockets using your fingers
(on the top part of the ball). Make a small circle for the snout.
Make small ears. Place them on the top of the head.
Use a plastic
fork, craft stick, or other small object to make two nostils.
Place wiggly eyes, beads, playdough,
etc. in the eyes socket for the eyes.
Let dry (if you like).
