is a great way to learn to recognize various fruits and how they are spelled. This eBook contains instructions, an 8 1/2" x 11" chart with fruit words and color images, 12 large word strips, 12 flashcards, 12 picture cards, 12 word cards, and some blank cards.  The word strips can be used for classroom instruction, classroom display, bulletin boards, and more. The flashcards can be used as for those learning to read and to strengthen ones reading knowledge.  There are some blank word strips  and cards for other fruits.   Fruits included are: fruits, strawberries, watermelon, grapes, apple, cherries, pineapple, pear, banana, orange, and peach.  The large word strips measure 5 1/4"x 2 1/2" and the other cards measure 3" x 2 1/2"

Cherry Counting Concentration Game: Cut some index cards in half. Stick the matching cherry sticker on two index cards.  Have the child turn all the cards facing down.  Have the child find a matching card.  Have the child count the cherries on the card.

Coconut Tree Craft (for kindergarten) @ DLTK Have the child color the tree and coconuts.  Cut the pieces out and glue it onto another piece of paper.  Have them write the letters of the alphabet, place stickers on it, or make some letters for them to put on their tree.

Lemon
Make lemonade and do step #1 listed below.  Have the children help you make the lemonade.

1.  Have your children sample sugar and lemon to experience both sweet and sour things.  Talk about sweet and sour.
2.  Use this as a math and/or science lesson.
Make lemon bars, lemon bread, or anything else made with lemon.
Have your children measure each amount of ingredient and put it into the recipes.  Have someone stir all the ingredients together when it says to.
For younger children:  This recipe might be a little different each time (but edible, hopefully) but they learn how to measure things.
For older children:  Ask them what happens if you do not measure correctly.
3.  If you are a teacher, do step #1.  If the school kitchen allows you to take your classroom into the kitchen, make this recipe there.  Eat it the next day.

Watermelon

Watermelon Craft
To make the watermelon pattern, fold a 12x9 inch piece of red or pink and green piece of construction paper in half.  Fold it in half lenghwise.  Starting from the top, cut at an angle to about 2 inches from the bottom of the paper.  Fold it again and meaure 1 inch across the top of the green construction paper marking every so often.  Cut.  Cut the amount of watermelons and rinds you need for your children or class.

Glue the red and green construction paper pattern together.  (You will need to glue it together for younger children.) Make little seeds by finger painting using black (or whatever color they want for fewer children) kids paint. Count seeds after you placed them on your fruit.

Paper Plate Watermelon Craft
Cut a paper plate in half.

Paint or color the part of the plate where it doesn't curve up red or pink.  Paint or color the top green.  Finger paint little black seeds.  Count the seeds as you go and/or after you placed them on your fruit.

Watermelon Math Toss Game
To make a watermelon, fold an 18x12 inch piece of red construction paper in half.  Starting from the top, cut at an angle and stop about 5 inches from the bottom.  Fold it again and measure 2 inches across the top of the green construction paper marking every so often.  Cut.  Laminate or put contact paper on it..  Cut black seeds using thick paper, poster board, black checkers, or coins.  Have the children toss the seeds onto the watermelon and count as they go.
