6 to 7 medium apples (or pears)
Lemon juice
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/3 cup water
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
6 tablespoons butter or margarine or acceptable margarine
1/4 teaspoon salt (if you use unsalted margarine)
Note: The "acceptable" ingredients are if your diet is dairy-free.
Core and cut apples into chunks. In a 9 x 13 buttered baking dish,
place the apples.
Sprinkle some lemon juice over the apples. Sprinkle with cinnamon and
then water.
In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt (if using unsalted margarine).
Cut
together using a pastry cutter. Spread evenly over apples. Press
down with a dry
measuring cup. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 40 to 45 minutes.

Apple Crisp #2

6 to 7 medium apples
1 1/2 cups quick cooking oats
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 cup flour
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 cup margarine or acceptable margarine

Pare apples and slice thin. Arrange apples in a 9x13 greased pan.
Combine oats, sugar, flour, and cinnamon
in bowl; cut in margarine. Sprinkle over apples. Bake in preheated
350 degree F. oven for 30 to 40 minutes.
