Patty Arnold-Rutkoff

Patty like you've never seen her before!

Cleans up NICE for a Country Girl, don't she!

Patty has been weathering through the family crises well. She was markedly relieved when ‘Dad’ finally was released from Foote hospital and sent home. So far, things have been stable.

She keeps active outside of her work with a weekly dance class that performs to, I believe ‘Sacred’ music-hymns, songs of praise, etc. I saw their performance in November, and it was really quite nice.

She has also now started on her fourth semester of American Sign Language, a skill she wanted to develop to increase her involvement with the Phoenix Deaf/Blind Community. As many of her adult students are on ‘adult’ twice over, many are also hearing deficient as well and visually impaired. (Incidentally, the word from the professionals is that those who don’t hear don’t mind being referred to as ‘deaf’, whereas those who don’t see, prefer to be referred to as ‘visually impaired’. And those who don’t speak are DEFINITELY MUTE, not dumb).
